It hard to beat the Camino for a walking experience.

I love the Camino. I have gone 11 times over the last 15 years and have done the French Way twice with different groups of friends. We have stayed in hostels, hotels and B&Bs. All were very good and reasonably priced. I'm always impressed with the way the route is maintained and I love the cafes along the way. The value you get for your money and the friendliness of the locals. I can say we were never once ripped off. Also, i enjoy meeting people from over the world.

We booked the tour with Camino Ways in 2019 for a May 2020 start. Canceled in April 2020 because of the pandemic. Camino Ways allowed us to reschedule anytime up to December 2022.

We went on our Camino (Sarria to Santiago) in June 2022. Everything worked!! Their website and customer service. The taxi from Santiago to Sarria. Daily luggage transfers. Reservations for hotels and pensions/B&Bs. Transfer to the Santiago airport at the end.

We upgraded to "superior" hotels in Sarria, Portomarin and the Parador in Santiago. Stayed in pensions/B&Bs in the other towns. All rooms had private baths, hot showers, WiFi. Breakfast included in all hotels & pensions/B&Bs. Close to restaurants.

Highly recommend Camino Ways for your Camino.
Excellent service with attention to detail

This year was my fifth or sixth Camino consecutively undertaken in recent years , apart for the two years of Covid disruption and postponements. Each trip was expertly and perfectly planned from beginning to end by Camino Ways.
Customer service at Camino Ways has been exceptional the staff have always been polite helpful and particular to plan and execute each trip with my individual needs Incorporated at each stage. Telephone conversations have always been immediately confirmed by email. Several weeks before each trip, emails were received with my individualised schedule, hotels, details of luggage transfers, contact numbers and all the information that is needed. Each time I have contacted the customer services, they have reinforced to me that if there were any concerns or question that needed answering that I was to contact them without hesitation.
Each of the hotels i have stayed at were convenient to the Camino, the staff were helpful and the rooms and facilities clean and comfortable. Meals were of a good standard and individual diets catered for. My luggage has always been transferred and at the hotel prior to my arrival.
During the Covid disruptions, when trips had to be be postponed, the staff in customer services were exceptional, rescheduling, cancelling and rebooking and amending my trips without any hesitation. Personally this occurred several times and at each time there was no hint of irritation or impatience.
I would recommend Camino Ways to anyone contemplating this holiday, the staff have the expertise and knowledge to meet all individual needs.
A great walking holiday but back up poor

We loved our walk and the accommodation which was country cottages and a parador in Santiago de Compostela was excellent. We especially liked Rectoral de Goian Sarria and A Pena de Augasantas - Touro
We lneeded help twice from caminoways. Firstly before setting off we requested help in getting to our first accommodation- we were told that taxi from station could not be booked and that our place would not be able to provide a meal ‘at last minute’ ( thus was a week in advance)
In the event we got a bus to Sarria from train station and then found a taxi but it was down to us to work that out. We then were very kindly offered a meal on our arrival at the auberge which was wonderful.
Secondly our booking at the parador in Santiago de Compostela had not been made so we were lucky that they found us a room and our luggage was mislaid between our last stops. We contacted caminoways and never got a reply. The hotel staff however were extremely helpful and tracked down our cases which had gone to another hotel and had them delivered
So all was good in the end and we enjoyed our holiday but back up service not good.
Overall very well organised and enjoyable trip

We found Camino Ways very good with their communication prior to the trip. They sent an email with route maps/ guidebook and itinerary including all details about the hotels including breakfast times/ check in times for some which was very helpful. The only problem was that the route map didn’t seem to work offline, it kept disappearing every time I clicked off the map. It wasn’t a problem however as the route was so clearly signposted every few hundred meters.

We went with the standard accommodation package and were pleasantly surprised by the hotels - all had hot showers, hairdryers and were clean. The luggage transfers were very well organised, the hotel receptionist told us what time in the mornings to drop off the bags and when we arrived at the next hotel they were waiting for us. They also told us breakfast times at check in and we mostly had a good variety of food at breakfast - croissants, toast with jams/ marmalade, ham, cheese, fruit, coffee, sometimes yoghurts

We just had a couple of issues that could be improved upon for future trips. The taxi driver who picked us up as part of our arranged transfer from the airport wasn’t very friendly and barely said two words to us despite our attempts and didn’t explain much at all about where we were going. It would have been nice to have some information just as we began our trip.

We also went at the end of Feb which is off season, we found most of the cafes/ restaurants that we passed on route were closed and so we mostly had to resort to packed lunches each day. It would have been helpful to have been told this in advance and been advised to take food with us as on the first day we went all day without food which was a struggle.

Overall though the trip was amazing, truly beautiful scenery, friendly locals, delicious tapas and very comfortable accommodation. Would recommend.
