What To Expect

Explore Catalunya
8.15am - You will join your tour at our office, which is right across from the world famous Palau de la Musica. You will meet your guide and have an introduction as to what to expect during the day. Your tour begins at 8.30am, but we always recommend arriving 15 minutes before.

• Admission Ticket Free

Eixample
8.30am - You will leave Barcelona though the Example district of town. As you head out of the city, your guide will give you a brief history of Barcelona, before letting you sit back and relax on the 90 minute drive to Figueres.

• Admission Ticket Free

Dali Theatre-Museum
10.00am - You will arrive at the world famous Dalí Museum-Theatre in Figueres, the birthplace of Dalí, where you will be taken straight past the queues inside.
Step inside the surreal world of Salvador Dalí and find a museum like none other. Dalí wanted visitors to see his massive collection as a ‘whole’ work, and for this reason he wanted no catalogues and refused to have his works placed in chronological or subject order. Inside is a world of fantasy mixed with architecture mixed with paintings and sculptures. It’s a complete surrealistic experience.

2 hours • Admission Ticket Included

Cadaques
Schedule September 1st - June 30th
1.00pm - After a morning discovering the art of Dalí, you will head to the beautiful coastal village of Cadaqués.
Famous for its white washed Mediterranean houses, narrow shady streets, and sandy bay, this is one of the most picturesque villages on the Costa Brava.
But what really stands out for many people is the dramatic drive there, which offers some of the best views in the whole of Catalunya. This is the perfect place for lunch. In the afternoon you will travel just a few minutes up the coast to the even smaller village of Port Lligat.

2 hours • Admission Ticket Free

Salvador Dali House
Schedule September 1st - June 30th
3.30pm - Port Lligat is where Dalí sought the peace and quiet that truly inspired him. This stunning little bay is where he first built then enlarged a simple fisherman's cottage into a magnificent and unique home. You will have the chance to visit inside this unusual building. His studio looks as if he has just stepped out for a stroll, and thanks to the careful way it has been maintained, it's easy to image he is still living in the house. Your guide will regale you with stories about his life there and the, share some secrets about his unusual marriage to his beloved Gala.
NOTE: Your tickets will have been pre booked by the office. If you want to take advantage of this, please pay the guide during the day.

60 minutes • Admission Ticket Not Included

Plaza de Catalunya
7.30pm - We end the day in Plaça Catalunya. From here, you can easily take the metro or a taxi back to your hotel. Otherwise, your guide will be more than happy to make some recommendations of where to have dinner.

Mysterious Dali

Thank you, Viatur and your guide Enrike. He told us an interesting story about life of Salvador Dali and Gala. Museum in Figueres is absolutely stunning. We were impressed by their house in Port Ligat and also picturesque views of small town Cadaques. We had a nice lunch in some restaurant in Cadaques and had an opportunity to walk along seafront and made some pictures. The tour took whole day but it worse it.
A day of Dali!

Arnou was a wonderful guide. My family of 5 adults and 3 others traveled by minivan with him. Although this was a long trip he was full of information regarding Dali’s life and art for the entire drive to the Dali museum, making this stop much easier to understand and appreciate. The next drive was to the quaint seaside town of Cadaques for lunch on our own, with many great seaside restaurants to chose from. The last leg of the drive was to Port Lligat where one has the opportunity to tour Dali’s unique home and grounds. This will cost extra (in cash) but is worth it (and there is a senior citizen discount!). Finally the long drive home was broken up by a gas/bathroom/leg stretching site. Many of us fell asleep on the ride back after a satisfying long day. We got back at around 7:00 pm, after a long but good day.
Properly surreal

This tour was a great opportunity to see Dali’s works as well as to gain a sense of how he lived. You get a sense of his self-presentation in the museum as well as more personal expressions at his home that he shared with Gala. The home is a moment frozen in time, set in a spectacularly scenic location. Both locations offered perspectives on Dali’s genius and eccentricity. There was a bit of driving required to get to the locations, but our guide, Steven, kept us informed along the way. Plus, our other tour members were all very personable and interesting people.
Must see for Dali Lovers

Wonderful relaxing trip through Dali country. The guide Arnau was very friendly and knowledgeable. He helped us understand Dali, his life and art. The only concern is that we wish he had accompanied us throughout the museum (like we saw guides with other tours do) to help us understand the individual art pieces. But definitely recommend.
