Great highlights tour of an overwhelming museum

It's easy to get "museum'd out" at a place like the Prado, packed as it is with world-class masterpieces (and a whole lot more paintings that you probably don't know but should). This tour zeroes in on all of the "can't miss" pieces in the collection, expertly guiding you from room to room, and—best of all—ends inside the Prado so you can go back through at your own pace to re-visit anything you saw or browse the pieces you missed the first time. The art history we learned during the tour was the ideal level of educational without being overly lecture-y, and I felt smarter at the end of the tour—always a good sign.

Put the guidebook down and let a Madrid local lead the way. Superb insight and knowledge of her native capital, Marta was our excellent host, inviting us to explore a city she clearly loves to share.
Excellent way to spend the afternoon!
